APQC Named a Top Workplace by the Houston Chronicle
(Houston, Texas - November 9, 2012) - APQC, the leading benchmarking and best practices research organization, has been named one of Houston’s Top Workplaces by the Houston Chronicle in the publication’s 2012 survey. The company ranked in the top 50 within the small company category.
Houston Chronicle Top Workplaces recognizes outstanding Houston area businesses based on employee surveys. Companies are measured on several qualities such as opportunities for advancement, workplace flexibility, the value of their pay and benefits, and their bosses’ communication and management skills.

APQC has been highlighted for its unique sabbatical program, in which employees who have been with the firm for at least five years receive extra time off to use as they wish. Employees who reach 15 years of service with the firm receive six weeks of sabbatical. The program is one element of a recently developed engagement initiative intended to increase employee retention. Another unique rentention initiative includes two weeks of paid paternity leave for new fathers.
The Top Workplaces survey was conducted for the Chronicle by Workplace Dynamics, a Pennsylvania-based research firm. Workplace Dynamics originally solicited input from more than 1300 companies. The rankings were based on the opinions of more than 72,500 Houston-area employees.
