APQC Recognized as One of North America's Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises for the Eighth Time

(Houston, Texas - October 30, 2012)  APQC, the leading benchmarking and best practices research organization, has been named one of the 2012 North American Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise (MAKE) award winners for the eighth time. APQC was also named to the 2012 Americas MAKE Hall of Fame. Recognized for its organizational learning practices and outstanding customer value, APQC help organizations effectively use and leverage knowledge management services, approaches, and tools to impact business results.

“APQC is proud to be recognized as an Americas Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises (MAKE) winner for the eighth time,” said Dr. Carla O’Dell, chief executive officer of APQC. Since helping establish KM as a key business discipline in the early 1990s, we have worked with organizations worldwide to innovate and reduce their cost of not knowing by focusing on the knowledge that really matters. Over the years, we have conducted more than 25 major research studies showcasing best practices in knowledge sharing, creation, and use. That’s why we are also very pleased to see so many of our active APQC members acknowledged for their achievements as well.”

Established in 1998 by Teleos, in association with The KNOW Network, the MAKE research program was created to recognize organizations for their ability to create shareholder value (or in the case of public and non-profit organizations, to increase stakeholder value) by transforming new as well as existing enterprise knowledge into superior products/services/solutions.

The 2012 North American MAKE winners were selected by a panel of North American Fortune Global 500 business executives and leading knowledge management (KM) and intellectual capital experts. Other winners include: Amazon, Apple, ConocoPhillips, Ecopetrol, Fluor, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Shincariol. To access an executive summary, visit www.knowledgebusiness.com.
