Adeeb Barqawi is the President & CEO of ProUnitas, a system based organization that leverages the power of technology and people to strengthen collaboration between social, health, and educational services through simplified, streamlined processes improving the social safety net for all. ProUnitas first product, Purple is currently reaching more than 50K students in Houston and growing. The technology platform empower school personnel, service providers, and other key stakeholders through predictive analytics to address whole-child health within the school.
The work of ProUnitas began when Adeeb Barqawi, a 2012 Teach for America corps member became a physics teacher at Kashmere High School in Northeast Houston. During his time in the classroom Adeeb was a recipient of numerous awards including the Kinder Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award as well as the State of Texas ACP Beginner Teacher of the Year Award. Prior to Teach for America, Adeeb worked for the pharmaceutical industry. Adeeb holds a master’s degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University as well as a master’s degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University. Adeeb is an alumnus of the Center for Houston’s Future Fall 2015 Business/Civic Executive Leadership Forum, and a fellow of the American Leadership Forum Class XXXVII. Adeeb's conviction towards educational equity lead him to be recognized as one of five people who are most likely to shape Houston's future by the Houston Chronicle. Recently, Adeeb was appointed by the Texas State Board of Education to serve on the new Texas Long Range Plan for Public Education steering committee where he will work alongside exceptional leaders to set a new vision for public education for the State of Texas.
Jamie Capehart | Manager of Organizational Development | The Goodway Group
Jamie has extensive experience leading performance improvement teams, working with all quality methodologies. She is an expert in change and process management from functional to process thinking, creating buy-in and inciting innovation.
Jamie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Applied Sciences from the University of North Texas and is a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ). She is an Examiner for the Texas Award for Performance Excellence, Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program, and Communities of Excellence. She is a thought leader and content contributor for the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC). Her work with teams has been noted as a best practice globally and is the focus of case studies, articles and blogs. Jamie has spoken all over the country on topics such as: diversity and inclusion, quality, strategic planning, customer and employee experience, culture, performance improvement, project management, process optimization, leadership and workforce engagement.
She joined Park Place Dealerships, and the Lexus family, in March 2013. Under her leadership, Park Place Lexus received best practice recognition in the Customer focus category for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Prior to joining the Automotive Industry, she served within the Healthcare Industry for 13 years in various performance excellence/healthcare improvement roles. Today, Jamie is the Organizational Development Manager for the Goodway Group who has received the Forbes Great Place to Work designation, as well as Glassdoor Best Places to Work.
