Process Management Workshop

three-day workshop, November 7–9

New to the APQC training agenda! This three-part series of process management courses is based on APQC's extensive research and experience helping organizations around the world define, develop, measure, and improve their processes. The series starts with basic, foundational education and builds up to intermediate, specific skill sets. You may choose to attend one, two, or all three days of the workshop.

Applying Process Management in Your Organization
(Day One, November 7)

A structured approach to process management is vital to establishing a sustainable business capability that aligns with your strategies and delivers long term value and improvement. This course explores APQC's Seven Tenets of Process Management, world class characteristics of high performing process managed organizations. You will learn how a balanced approach including strategic alignment, governance, models and frameworks, performance measurement and process improvement provide the structure and tools to enable process to take root, grow, and yield business results.

Process Frameworks and End-to-End Processes
(Day 2, November 8)

A process framework brings order to the business processes that represent everything you do in your businesses. In this course you will learn how to establish and apply a process framework to organize your process knowledge so that it is easily captured, maintained, and accessed by the workers that apply them. With a framework in place, you can then better identify and define the end-to-end processes that cross organizational boundaries and drive high performance and customer value.

Defining Your Business Processes
(Day 3, November 9)

Defining business processes is more than just process mapping or flowcharting. In this course you will learn how to apply APQC's methodology to systematically define a process and capture relevant process knowledge. Our approach spans defining process scope, performing analysis to determine inputs, outputs, the interactions between people to carry out the process, and techniques for flowcharting and tailoring processes. The resulting process definitions accurately represent how work is performed and provide a foundation for process measurement and improvement.
