Like many organizations, Hewlett-Packard (HP) was looking for ways to providing a common language, developing a capabilities map, filtering process improvements, and comparing and prioritizing business requests. In 2010, senior management at HP urged all groups within the organization to adopt and leverage APQC's Process Classification Framework (PCF) to organize processes and facilitate interactions among work groups. This case study explores how the IT business architecture and process improvement groups-within the business process delivery division of HP-use the PCF.
