Project management offices (PMOs) are moving beyond project management to providing insights and supporting more strategic enterprise-wide initiatives. In July and August 2014, APQC conducted a survey to assess the new roles PMOs are playing within organizations and to understand the key characteristics necessary to provide strategic support.

To better understand the differences between PMOs at different sized organizations, APQC conducted cross tabulation analysis on survey responses by two revenue categories as proxies for organizational size. This report explores the differences between ?large organizations? (respondent organizations with revenue over $20 billion) and ?smaller organizations? (respondent organizations with revenue under $100 million).
