2011 Knowledge Management Conference Call for Presentations
2011 Knowledge Management Conference Call for Presentations
The call for presentations for APQC’s 2011 knowledge management (KM) conference is now open! Submit proposals online. The deadline for submissions is December 6, 2010.
Guidelines for Submissions
-
Abstracts must be submitted before midnight CST on Friday, December 6, 2010.
-
Abstracts may not exceed 100 words, but they may be supplemented by up to 250 words of explanation and highlights to assist the abstract review team in its selection.
-
Copies of presentation material, book chapters, or published articles are not acceptable as abstracts. APQC welcomes these materials to supplement your abstract submission.
-
In addition to the abstract, submissions must include a 50-word biography for each speaker. Resumes are not acceptable.
-
Conference speakers will receive free registration for the entire two-day event. Costs associated with the presentation—including travel and lodging—are the responsibility of the presenter.
-
If a presentation has more than one speaker, a free registration will be given to the primary speaker, and a 50 percent discount will be given to additional speakers from the same organization. Each presentation may have no more than three speakers, including one primary speaker.
-
If selected, you must be available to speak at any time on May 12 or 13, 2011.
-
Should you be chosen to present, a copy of the completed PowerPoint presentation with any needed internal approvals must be submitted via e-mail by April 22, 2011.
-
Making sales pitches or distributing marketing materials during presentations is strictly prohibited.
-
Consultants and product vendors may submit an abstract as a co-presenter with a client, but the client must tell the story and give the bulk of the presentation, in order to maintain a practitioner-oriented environment. All presentations must avoid commercialism, promotion, and advertising.
-
Presentations that are simply descriptions of company products and services will not be allowed.
-
Advertising of any kind may not be distributed, nor may any material be displayed that directly promotes the commercial interests of the presenters or any particular enterprise.
-
Statements in the presentation are the sole responsibility of the author. No presenter statements should be viewed as, or considered representative of, any formal stance or position taken on any product, subject, or issue by APQC.
-
Submission and acceptance of an abstract permits APQC to record the presentation for a conference proceedings publication that may be available to participants and possibly sold to the public following the conference.
-
The media may cover presentations. If you feel your presentation warrants special attention, contact APQC’s meeting manager for information concerning APQC’s press release distribution policy.
