John G. Tesmer, Senior Program Manager, Open Standards ResearchJohn Tesmer is an expert in benchmarking technologies, having design and developed systems, tools, and processes for collecting, processing, and reporting on benchmarking data for IBM and APQC. Tesmer presently is the senior program manager for the Open Standards Benchmarking initiative, responsible for delivery of benchmarking services to customers around the world. Tesmer also leads research projects for APQC in subjects related to process management and process frameworks.

Tesmer holds responsibility for the stewardship, continuous improvements to APQC’s Process Classification FrameworkSM (PCF), the cross-industry framework and its industry extensions that outline the processes and activities for organizations to compare performance with a common understanding.

Tesmer began his career in management consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers, and then transitioned to IBM’s Business Consulting Services in 2002. At IBM, Tesmer served as a project manager leading the technical implementation of IBM’s benchmarking application suite. In 2006, Tesmer left IBM for APQC and its benchmarking operation. Tesmer is an OMG-certified expert in BPM (OCEB). He is a past recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award. Tesmer is an alumnus of the University of Florida.
