Content Management: What Works?

Back in January, you told us that content management is a key focus for 2014. Right now, APQC is conducting research to find out what organizations are doing to improve access to content and which tools and approaches are most effective.

84% of organizations consider content management to be important or very important

On a recent APQC survey of more than 400 knowledge managers, 82 percent rated content management as important or extremely important to their organizations, and 54 percent listed it among their top knowledge priorities for the year. Aspects of content management explored by the survey, which APQC is conducting in partnership with KMWorld, include:

  • Goals and objectives for content management
  • Options for different content types and repositories
  • The best techniques for search, taxonomy, and metadata
  • The most popular vendors, and which tools get results
  • How organizations are integrating social, mobile, analytics, and cloud into their content management strategies
