4 Things Smart Leaders Are Doing to Grow STEM Expertise in Logistics (Infographic)

There are many emerging and continuing trends around talent management that are impacting the transportation and logistics sector. Due to a retiring workforce there is a need to place qualified talent into the increasing number of jobs becoming available in the logistics and transportation industries. 

What are transportation and logistics leaders doing to leverage the skilled workers they already have? APQC’s recent study on growing STEM expertise shows that more than 60 percent of transportation and logistics organizations participating in the study have increasing STEM expertise on their agendas, but only 17 percent consider it a signficiant or urgent priority. APQC's research shows that transportation and logistics is significantly behind other industries in accelerating learning for both novice and mid-career employees. APQC's recent research also shows that training, programs for high potential employees, and technical networks work well to accelerate time to competencey and address expertise gaps in the transportation and logistics industry.
