2012 KM Conference Pre-Conference Manufacturing Session
Revitalizing U.S. Manufacturing with the Help of Knowledge Capture and Transfer
APQC and AME (Association of Manufacturing Excellence) will host a special pre-conference session focused on the challenges facing U.S. manufacturing and the role knowledge management plays to support productive manufacturing.
The National Council for Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM) and its alliance partners propose these top three priorities for revitalizing manufacturing:
- build a better-educated and trained workforce,
- promote product and process innovation and R&D, and
- improve global competitiveness for companies.
Attendees of this session will discuss and explore ways to apply existing knowledge and best-practice transfer techniques to address these priorities, as well as enhance and standardize manufacturing processes. From this interactive session, attendees will learn from leading organizations ideas for improving manufacturing efficiency and effectiveness.
